Cleaner Supervisor

Vancouver Hood Doctors is hiring a Cleaner Supervisor to supervise and co-ordinate crews providing commercial kitchen exhaust and hood-system cleaning services across Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, and the Sea-to-Sky corridor.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of cleaning staff working on commercial kitchen exhaust systems.
  • Inspect sites and facilities to ensure established safety and cleanliness standards are met.
  • Assist with deep cleaning and degreasing of commercial kitchen exhaust hoods, ducts, plenums, fans, filters, access panels, and related hood-system components.
  • Train or arrange training for cleaning staff in job duties, safety procedures, equipment use, and company standards.
  • Prepare work schedules, assign duties, and co-ordinate crews for on-the-road service appointments.
  • Operate and oversee the safe use of pressure washing equipment, scrapers, brushes, degreasers, hot-water systems, ladders, and other commercial cleaning tools.
  • Protect client property by setting up drop cloths, poly-sheeting, containment, and site-preparation materials before cleaning begins.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, report deficiencies, and recommend additional services when required.
  • Resolve work-related problems and communicate job progress, site conditions, and completed work to management and customers.

Requirements

  • English language is required.
  • A valid Class 5 or Class 7 driver’s licence is required.
  • Experience supervising cleaners or commercial cleaning crews is required.
  • Experience with kitchen exhaust, hood, duct, plenum, fan, or grease-removal work is an asset.
  • Must be comfortable working on the road throughout Metro Vancouver, the Fraser Valley, and the Sea-to-Sky corridor.
  • Must be able to work variable shifts, including overnight, early-morning, evening, weekend, and after-hours restaurant service appointments.
  • Must follow safety procedures for ladders, wet floors, chemical degreasers, hot water, pressure washing, confined or awkward work areas, and greasy surfaces.
  • Must be reliable, detail-oriented, organized, and able to co-ordinate a crew while keeping jobs on schedule.

Schedule

  • Full-time, permanent position.
  • 30 hours per week.
  • Variable schedule based on customer operations, including overnight, early-morning, evening, weekend, and after-hours shifts.

Physical demands

  • Handling heavy loads and moving equipment between service vehicles and job sites.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, and working overhead.
  • Climbing ladders and working around commercial kitchen exhaust equipment.
  • Working in greasy, wet, hot, and physically demanding environments.
